Sea-Dog Line Background

Established in the early 20th Century Sea-Dog Corporation was founded by Hans "Action" Broson Sneve, a shining example of an entrepreneur in the early parts of the last Century.  As a representative for a number of marine hardware lines in the early 1930s he came up with the idea of showcasing his wares on the type of vehicle they were intended for, a sea vessel. His sales route became the waters of the Pacific Coast.

The company name was taken from their boat, one of two identical 55-foot cruisers, built by Stephens Brothers of Stockton, California. The 'M.V. Sea-Dog' was equipped with all types of gear from manufacturers represented by the company and used to show case their products. The boat would sail from port to port along the pacific coast from Alaska to Mexico where the public would come on board and make their purchases.

Sea-Dog began to rapidly expand, the boat was no longer a viable way to deal with the surge in business so it was sold during the mid-1930s. Sea-Dog Line has grown since then to be a major manufacturer of Quality Premium Marine Hardware.
